One week to our April 2nd event!
After several exhibitions in downtown San Jose, primarily in support of city creative and placemaking organizations, we're going back to basics and bringing to you speakers from a wide variety of experiences. They're sharing their creativity, their savvy, their inspiration, and their... well, you're just going to have to see, won't you?
We're returning to Cafe Stritch because we had so much fun there last time and they're really a great place to eat and drink as well. Get there early and give their menu a try - everything is priced under $10 (we particularly like the baked mac & cheese for $4!)

Christopher J Garcia returning to give us a presentation about why conventions are all about food.
Megan Eckman on how to "Rekindle Your Wonder"
Duncan Cook will explain why "The Kid wants in the Picture"
Ted Alspach shows how to "Turn your passion into a business"
And we'll have presentations from Chris Maloney and Steve Samson as well.
Festivities and preshow warm-ups will begin after 7pm and we'll target the Pecha Kucha presentations to start around 8pm.

As their studies at San Jose State University are coming to an
end, the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) graduates will perform at our
next Pecha Kucha Night in downtown San Jose to introduce themselves
and their work to the greater community.
Representing the disciplines of pictorial, spatial, photography and
digital media, as well as interesting interdisciplinary approaches,
this evening will give the audience a glimpse into the technical and
visual research each artist diligently pursued over the last three
years.
The variety of backgrounds and nationalities of the individual
speakers will present their unique view on contemporary culture, as
translated in their visual work. In addition, this presentation will
announce the beginning of their collaboration with independent
curator Christian L. Frock for their culminating MFA exhibition set
to open in May 2013 at the Art Ark Gallery in San Jose.
This evening will also be the first collaboration of Pecha Kucha San
Jose with Steve Borkenhagen and his new restaurant and performance

Ready for no-holds-barred Pecha Kucha?
We're back and we're excited. We're done with one word themes. This time the theme is What you make of it!Which as you can tell really opens things up.
And we're asking YOU to help define the event. Call is now open for presenters, whatever you're wanting to show, we're not holding back. The sky is the limit (which was almost the theme, but it seemed a little tame.) There's even more excitement on the horizon, but we're holding back a few announcements here for later.
We're also not set on a date, but expect to get this in either the end of September or beginning of October. Again, this may be influenced by the availability of presenters!
So, you've always wanted to Pecha Kucha. Here's your chance to make it YOUR event. Write to us now, let us know your thoughts!

How do you pronounce Pecha Kucha?
The pronunciation can be confusing for English speakers.
Try breaking it up the like this:
Pe - Chak - Cha
Although we've also heard it like this:
Pe - Cha- ku - Cha
or
Pe - Chaku - Cha
Any one seems fairly recognizable, so we're not judging anyone.
See, it's easy.
